Dear Leilani,

Let’s play “Jeopardy". The answer is Cholesterol-260, fasting blood sugar-118, resting blood pressure-160/l00. Buzz! The question is: what is a prescription for heart disease, stroke, and adult on set diabetes? Add to the above profile a type A personality and a demanding profession, which has taught you to take care of others before self. Put those pieces together and you should have no difficulty predicting "FINAL JEOPARDY"!

Quick get the remote: change the channel.... It's a new show...'X-TRAINERS'; the new super heroes. They are in New Orleans, one of the world's leading cities for heart disease, diabetes, and obesity; but they're not afraid.  They are even taking their message of truth, justice... (No, no that's superman)... their message of excellent health, exercise, and nutrition through out the world.

Two years ago the Jeopardy scenario described my medical profile. After honest self-reflection I knew the medication to control cholesterol and hypertension and the excellent care and advice of my personal physician were not enough. I still had not made the decision to do the work that only I could do.

Step one: I had to admit I needed help-a lot of help, one on one help, one on one help with flexibility and a good sense of humor.

Step two: Finding someone who would put up with me and step one.

Then one year ago there you were Leilani, stepping boldly from behind the sushi bar with a 15 lb. weight in one hand.... Ok, ok that's not how I found X-Trainers, but the important thing is that I found Leilani Heno and X-TRAINERS.

Ten months after beginning the X-Trainers program I visited my physician for my annual check-up. Now let 's play Jeopardy again. The answer is: cholesterol-158, fasting blood sugar 100, resting blood pressure-142/78, weight reduction-20 lbs. The question is; what has Leilani and X-Trainers helped me achieve and realize for my own health and well being?

This is really a thank-you letter. Thank you for putting up with all of my resistance and whining.  Thank-you for insisting that I do the right thing.  Thank-you for accepting me where I am and as I am. Most of all thank-you for demonstrating the qualities, which I, as a physician, strive and often fail to manifest, non-judgmental support and friendly guidance.

Sincerely,

Henrynne A. Louden, M.D.
